슈나우저 개인정보처리방침

슈나우저는 화면의 글자(영어·한국어, 언어팩을 추가하면 일본어·중국어)를 번역해 창 옆에 나란히 보여주는 Windows 앱입니다. 이 방침은 슈나우저가 어떤 정보를 다루고, 무엇을 하지 않는지 설명합니다.

한 줄 요약

화면 글자 인식과 번역은 모두 사용자의 PC 안에서만 이루어집니다. 슈나우저가 인터넷에 연결하는 때는 사용자가 언어팩을 추가할 때뿐이며, 이때도 번역 모델 파일을 내려받기만 합니다. 화면 내용·번역 결과·개인정보는 어디에도 보내거나 저장하지 않습니다.

처리하는 정보

정보 언제 어떻게 다루나요
번역할 창의 화면 이미지 번역을 켠 동안 메모리에서 글자를 인식(Windows 기본 OCR)하고 앱에 들어 있는 번역 모델로 번역한 뒤 버립니다. 파일로 저장하지 않습니다.
마우스 포인터 주변의 화면 이미지 "가리키면 번역" 키를 누른 채 멈췄을 때 위와 같습니다. 키를 떼면 번역 말풍선과 함께 사라집니다.
창 제목 번역할 창을 표시할 때 미니 바와 분할 뷰에 보여주기만 합니다.
언어팩 설정 › 언어에서 추가할 때 번역 모델 파일을 GitHub(github.com/handwoo24/schnauzer-languages 저장소의 Releases)에서 내려받아 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Schnauzer\models에 둡니다. GitHub는 다른 웹사이트처럼 요청한 PC의 IP 주소와 받은 파일 이름을 알 수 있고, 이 정보는 GitHub 개인정보처리방침에 따라 처리됩니다. 화면 내용이나 번역은 전송되지 않습니다.
설정값 설정을 바꿀 때 번역 언어, 본문만 번역 여부, 가리키면 번역 사용 여부와 키, 단축키만 이 PC의 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Schnauzer\settings.json에 저장합니다. 화면 내용이나 번역 문장은 들어 있지 않습니다.

설정 › 진단에 보이는 기록(처리 속도, 오류 메시지)은 앱이 켜져 있는 동안 메모리에만 있다가 앱을 끄면 사라집니다.

하지 않는 것

  • 언어팩 외의 인터넷 연결: 영어·한국어 번역 모델은 앱 안에 들어 있고, 인터넷은 사용자가 요청한 언어팩을 받을 때만 씁니다.
  • 서버 전송: 화면 이미지, 인식한 글자, 번역 결과, 사용 통계를 외부로 보내지 않습니다.
  • 번역 기록 저장: 번역한 문장을 저장하지 않습니다. 이전 버전이 남긴 기록 파일이 있으면 시작할 때 지웁니다.
  • 광고, 분석 도구, 계정, 제3자 SDK를 쓰지 않습니다.
  • 화면 공유와 스크린샷: 미니 바와 가리키면 번역 말풍선은 화면 캡처에서 제외되어 슈나우저 스스로도 다시 읽지 않습니다. 분할 뷰는 사용자가 화면 공유로 보여줄 수 있도록 캡처에서 제외하지 않습니다.

Microsoft Store

앱을 Microsoft Store에서 설치하면 설치, 업데이트, 오류 보고 같은 정보는 Microsoft가 Microsoft 개인정보처리방침에 따라 처리합니다. 슈나우저 개발자는 이 정보로 개인을 식별하지 않습니다.

정보 삭제

슈나우저를 제거하면 앱과 기본 번역 모델이 지워집니다. 언어팩은 설정 › 언어에서 삭제할 수 있습니다. 설정 파일과 언어팩까지 모두 지우려면 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Schnauzer 폴더를 삭제하세요.

Schnauzer Privacy Policy

Effective: October 23, 2026

Schnauzer translates text on your screen (English and Korean; Japanese and Chinese with language packs) and shows the translation beside the window. Text recognition and translation happen entirely on your PC. Schnauzer connects to the internet only when you add a language pack, and then only downloads model files. It does not send or store screen content, translations or personal information anywhere.

  • Screen images of the window you translate, and of the area around the pointer when you hold the point-to-translate key, are processed in memory (Windows OCR and the translation model bundled with the app) and discarded. They are never saved to disk.
  • Window titles are only displayed in the mini bar and the split view.
  • Language packs you add in Settings › Languages are downloaded from GitHub (the Releases of the github.com/handwoo24/schnauzer-languages repository) into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Schnauzer\models. Like any website, GitHub can see the requesting IP address and which file was downloaded, under the GitHub Privacy Statement; no screen content or translations are sent.
  • Settings (translation languages, main-content-only, point-to-translate and its key, the start/stop shortcut) are saved in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Schnauzer\settings.json on your PC. They contain no screen content or translations.
  • The diagnostics shown in Settings live in memory and disappear when the app closes.
  • The internet is used only for language packs you ask for. There are no ads, analytics, accounts or third-party SDKs, and no translation history is kept.
  • If you install Schnauzer from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft processes install, update and crash information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Uninstalling Schnauzer removes the app and its bundled models; remove language packs in Settings › Languages, or delete %LOCALAPPDATA%\Schnauzer to remove your settings and language packs too.
